Vexations by Erik SatieFrench composer Erik Satie probably holds the record for a composition that is the longest in the world. His piece called Vexations lasts for under a minute. However Satie states in the score that it should be played 840 times in continuous succession - a non-stop playing time of 14 hours.

No wonder there's a MTV generation.
